Frequently asked questions.
Why are there two streams WTJR and CTN ?
WTJR and CTN play many of the same programs. Since WTJR must pay for there Webstream, it is more cost effective if the Network shows are viewed on the network stream. Many times the same show will be playing on both streams . WTJR has many local programs. These programs will only be seen on the local WTJR stream.
Can I watch on dial up internet service?
The video streams are made to be watched on a broadband internet connection, such as cable, DSL, or wireless DSL.
Can I watch the webstream on my regular TV?
Yes. You need a video card in your computer that has composite video or s-video out.(or a external converter box) You then run a video cable to the video input on your TV. You also can run the audio output from your computer sound card to the audio input on your television with the appropriate cables and adapters. On many modern LCD and Plasma TV’s they have a SVGA, DVI, or HDMI input. In that case a dual output video card is used with the approprate connector, one to your computer monitor and one to the television.
Why is the quality not as good as my over the air antenna or cable service?
This is the main reason that Internet TV has not totally arrived. That and the hook up to your TV is not seamless … yet. The quality is a compromise between bandwidth, and money to pay for that bandwidth. The over the air WTJR DTV signal is much “clearer” for example. The sound on our internet webstream is of high Quality.
